Discover Çorlu,
Turkey
GEOGRAPHICAL & HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Çorlu is a northwestern Turkish city in the inland Eastern Thrace region, about one hour from Istanbul. It is the second most populated region of Turkey after the wider Istanbul metropolitan area. The city was an important military base for the 600 years of Ottoman Empire to the end of the World War I. It is a rapidly developing industrial center between Istanbul and Turkey's border with Greece and Bulgaria.
Corlu is not typically known as a tourist destination. However, we often recommend Istanbul, which is only an hour away. Istanbul offers a wide range of historical and cultural attractions for patients interested in enjoying their time in Turkey.
